Hi D, I had what I think was an early release of Powerchute. I had a lot of hardware conflicts and Windows problems with the software. For the life of me, I couldn't get things to sort themselves out. In the end I realized I didn't need the software since I could shut down manually, and I was really just using the box to protect my hardware. Not using the software wouldn't be an option for everyone I guess. I think though that the APC people should help you with this. I suspect the latest software version with a newer version of Windows might work better...
