Great, tc. Thank you. A related question: If you've just finished defragging when you run chkdsk, I assume your programs are closed down (for example with EndItAll) as it runs. When I used to run ScanDisk myself, I'd close everything down first, but sometimes when I had several windows open and was working at the computer, it would start running spontaneously, so I wondered whether it was actually necessary to close down your programs first... ?
