You know Hugh, you say that government doesn't work, can't come up with solutions, etc.

In the '40's, the leadership became concerned that the Germans might get the A-bomb before we did. They set up and funded a program, and that program yielded a bomb in a little over three years - a feat that wasn't even know to be possible.

We could do the same today with alternative energy, if we had a leadership that believed it was possible. Bush is not that leadership. Maybe Obama will be, McCain certainly isn't.
