Eh? ICBMs have no influence on "entangling alliances"? (Yeah, that was George, I know.) NATO was possibly the most brilliant idea the US had after WW2. (Well, yeah, there was the Marshll plan.)

Modern communications have no influence on business? Before that, businesses were largely limited to a small area, part of a state. NOW the entire globe presents little challenge because of distance. Your well-being is affected by Chinese coolies and Indian untouchables.

Saying that technology has no impact on human events and life may be popular among liberal "elites", but it has little to do with the real world. You can starve because one of those coolies now has the job that used to feed you.
