I think that more recently a lot of downgrades have been the result of another kind of pressure. target have been lowered on many companies because the stocks have been dropping in spite of good fundamentals. Management at many brokerages I believe have told analysts look the sock is in the tanker put out something that reflects the price weakness and stop embarrassing us. As a result the sell of in the market has been exacerbated.
