And so I have someone coming next Tuesday to clean my house!! She would have come tomorrow, but there was no way I could get the place ready in time. You do not understand, excessively houseproud Penni: the truly Perfect Servant does not expect--does not WANT--you to "prepare" for him/her. Today, in the aftermath of my rather bibulous dinner party, I greeted Perfect Eric wearing my bathrobe. He said nothing. He does not criticize. He made me tea, and then took the kitchen, which looked like Belfast at the height of the Troubles, in hand. I was so grateful I paid him a little extra. I had, after all, stayed in bed nearly all afternoon, which created difficulties for him. Janice
