Further to Marty's comments:
We should not forget the effectiveness of the ubiquitous, daily-arriving, waste-basket-filling AOL CD's that most of us threw away immediately upon receipt because we were already on line, but which MILLIONS of those who received them used to get themselves instantly on line and instantly set up as AOL customers.
The distribution of bundled CD's with a number of WAVE-enabled, controlled distribution products/games/etc. and an instantly-easy-to-setup on-line WAVE account is an excellent marketing device to introduce the WAVE system, even without the pre-existence of the onboard hardware, to huge numbers of potential users. It also provides a "value-added" service to the content publishers, further enhancing their loyalty to WAVX, by bringing and introducing their revenue producing products directly into the hands of potential users.
IMHO that the "bundled CD" concept, while not an end in itself, is certainly a potentially effective marketing tool for WAVX and its content providers.
