The increase in MarketWatch.com shares was not enough to satisfy some holders of Data Broadcasting Corp. which fell 6 1/2 to 24 11/16, even though it owns 38 percent of the Internet company. Data Broadcasting shares more than quadrupled in anticipation of the Marketwatch.com, rising to a peak of 38 7/16 on Jan. 11. The increase implied a $214 price for each of the 4.5 million Marketplace.com shares held by Data Broadcasting, or twice as high as their current price.
