It is also irrelevant to anyone running a multi-user system, where users are not allowed/able to run any malicious software they want. The only effect of this "buglet" is that authors of malicious software (viruses or Trojans) now have one more way of crashing the systems in question if they want to. To users of those systems, it does not matter whether the system crashed because of a processor crash (which is difficult for a non-privileged application to do), or because of an OS crash (which is trivial ....there ar numerous ways for a non-privileged application running under Linux, NT (or whatever) to crash the OS, reboot the machine or whateve. All this bug does is to open up yet another way of crashing machines...big deal. Now, I would not be surprised to see those instructions included in the payload of some virus, however - I would be extremely surprised to see such viruses become a real threat. In other words - unlike the floating point bug, which was a REAL problem, because it could make a legitimate program produce incorrect results, this new bug is nothing more than a curiousity - just one more way for a malicious program to crash a computer.
