Please don't go crazy. Of course I know that the bottom forty is not totally unusable (it is the upstream path) and I know that noise immunity is not an exclusive property of CDMA, etc. etc. These were impromptu statements on a message board by a busy person conveying meaning to people who don't want to restrict their communications to schematics and legal documents.

As for your significant point, I believe that the noise immunity of CDMA is unique. Discrete multitone bypasses noise through an adaptive equalization process but is not immune to noise in the same way as spread spectrum.
