From memory, IBM didn't expect this new technology to be fully developed for at least 5 years and I think INTC made a similar announcement about new processes that wouldn't be ready for 10 years or so. VTSS has stated that they would do all they can to keep up with the advancements in the industry and a couple of their recent acquisitions have targeted technologies other than GaAs (InP, SiGe, CMOS, etc..).

We certainly need to keep abreast of the changing landscape as investors. I will add that I think VTSS has done a pretty good job of this (so far).
