I'm wondering what impact a stock market collapse would have on the building trades. I am a civil engineer, so I can see that the industry is strong, especially here in California. However, it would put a big cloud over many people's home buying ideas if their stock portfolios started to decline or even go negative. I am looking to start a short position in some of the home building companies or other construction related businesses and am looking for suggestions. Any ideas? Maybe KBH, USG?
