Playboy Bets on Gaming Wed Mar 31, 1999 Leading entertainment corporations are beginning to realize that the online gambling business has staying power. Playboy operated real casinos in several countries in the late 70s and early 80s; and now, Playboy's CEO, Christie Hefner, has announced plans to open a ''Play 4 Fun'' casino gaming section on Playboy's web site. Visitors will be able to play roulette, video poker, slots and blackjack--with no real financial repercussions. The gaming section is scheduled for release in April, but the question is: how long will the online casino be ''just for fun?''
