TLC, are you suggesting that we should help them?

SI has always been a site of competing egos. What bothers me the most is watching SI encourage those who post on SI for their own financial gains while at the same time driving away those members who have help many quietly behind the scene to become better investors.

Clearly while SI strives to become all things to all people, the most knowledgeable investors seem to quietly disappear from the boards. In the name of the 1st amendment we allow the true purpose of the site to be undermine.

Should we help SI implode or try to rescue it from the jaws of death? I haven't left, because leaving is surrendering to those who wish to tell us what we really want and need. I have always hated to lose a good friend, but the Silicon Investor of today is becoming a stranger. I won't help it implode, but the day may come when I wake up and realize I no longer feel at home here.

I can only hope that those who provide a valuable service to other members of SI will recognize their importance to the community we know as SI and not let management drive them away from the community that the new management has never come to know. SI is not the management it is the community. It is not the management that pays a price when a quality poster leaves SI, it is the community that suffers lost.
