Minotaur (MNR ASX) just announced (Nov. 14th) a major find on their Mt. Woods JV in Australia (BHP 51%, MNR 19%): 100M of 2% copper + gold credits. This was an Olympic Dam-style target, located 200 km Northwest of Olympic Dam. Minotaur went up 10 times in share price in the past few days (A$.17 -> A$1.70), based on their 19% interest.

This has intriguing implications for Caldera Resources (CDR-T), as follows:

When I first saw Caldera's press release about a JV with Inco on the Mt. Carulina Olympic Dam style project, I was concerned that this target was ~350 km Northwest of Olympic Dam. It was encouraging that the Mt. Carulina prospect was in the same structural corridor (O'Driscoll G2 Corridor), but it still seemed to be too far away from Olympic Dam to be prospective.

The recent Minotaur/BHP discovery hole (100M of 2% copper + gold) gives me hope that this G2 Corridor is prospective for hundreds of kilometers. The Minotaur/BHP discovery is ~200 km Northwest of Olympic Dam and the CDR/Inco target is ~150 km Northwest of the Minotaur/BHP discovery. Here is a view of the Corridor from Caldera's press release:

Now I'm intrigued, and I'm looking forward to the drill program at Mt. Carulina that will occur within the next 12 months. I hope that as Inco/CDR approach drilling at Mt. Carulina, they will release some of the geophysical characteristics of Mt. Carulina that give it a similar geophysical signature as Olympic Dam.

In addition to the Mt. Carulina Olympic Dam style target, Caldera has 6 diamond exploration projects in Australia. On one of these, the Yilgarn JV with SUF, Caldera just announced a kimberlite discovery.
