Equifax quarterly earnings rise 15%, top estimates

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Equifax Inc. said earnings rose 15% in the first quarter to $59 million, or 44 cents a share, with sales up 11% to $343 million. The Atlanta-based credit rating agency reported earnings from continuing operations of 44 cents a share, topping Thomson First Call-compiled estimates of 41 cents a share. Equifax said it saw strong performances across all of its businesses.
