It is almost impossible to compare these various models as some are for different time frames (days out) and use completely different techniques. We are looking at data and trying to interpret it much like a new member at SI might try to make sense of the various TA posts and modelling posts that are done here for stocks and commodities. I'm trying to gather information and learn as I go.

The NHC uses 5 days and some of these others are for 8 and 9 days which makes them an entirely different animal and of course, much more speculative. A lot can happen between now and Thursday. We just saw what a difference a degree could make in Hurricane Charley.

I am super busy at work as my interior design firm is providing services for those who have interior furnishing losses in our area. (Obviously this is not completely altruistic). I have one client that lost not only her home but her land as well when Charlie cut her remote barrier island in half (North or Upper Captiva Island). Many others have a great deal of damage.

Tuesday is the last day of my commission year and today is my only day to prepare for the contingencies of Frances. I am preparing for both an evacuation (pets and disabled hubby) and to gut it out here (last time 9 days without electricity and 14 without cable).
