Close 35.06. The WSJ: <snip> Though Blackstone hasn't had the one-day "pop" enjoyed by hedge fund Fortress Investment Group, which soared 68% after its first day of trading on the NYSE in February, the stock seems to have traded in line with expectations.

"It's an unusual for a $4 billion IPO to spike up that much," said Francis Gaskins, president of research site IPODesktop.com. "Most of the buyers are sophisticated investors, and they are not going to chase it."

Scott Sweet, managing director of IPOBoutique.com, said many short-term investors would have taken their profits by now, leaving the stock in the hands of more "long-term investors who believe in the Blackstone Group story."
