I looked at the Philips database and found this little morsel from a few weeks back that may answer a few questions.

October 2, 1996

Having taken an $18-million beating last year, Sanctuary Woods is showing signs of a resurrection, having secured more than $5 million in financing since late September, including more than $800,000 this week alone.

Although CEO Charlotte Walker did not return a call by presstime yesterday, she recently told MMWIRE new infusions of cash would go to retire debt. But the new capital "is not a lot" and it "remains to be seen" if Sanctuary can rise like a phoenix, said analyst David Cole with DFC Intelligence Research.

The company known for NFL Math may come away in a better position to compete as a developer, but it will "not rise from the ashes as a publisher. It's not enough" new capital, Cole said. (Sanctuary Woods, Charlotte Walker, CEO, 415/286-6025; DFC Intelligence Research, David Cole, 619/484-5145)
