This company really has good content. It doesn't have broad appeal like an online bookstore, but in its niche, it is and will be even more of a leader. Now let's see if they can penetrate their content to a broader market like they seem to be starting to do.

FROM TODAY'S NEWS RELEASE

"The dissectible anatomy database will allow ADAM.COM users to dissect the four classic anatomical views: anterior, posterior, medial
and lateral. Instead of just reading about health related subjects, viewers will be empowered to actually see the particular part of the body at issue. A.D.A.M.'s proprietary ''pixel level recognition'' technology, which allows the users to identify any anatomical structure at an individual pixel level, has been specially modified for web use. The user will also be able to dissect layer by layer or use a scroll bar to navigate deeper.

''We believe that we can raise the bar on what an online health site can offer,'' said Mr. Cramer. ''Providing a truly engaging,
interactive visual experience that works within today's Internet bandwidth limitations is one of ADAM.COM's competitive advantages.''

The A.D.A.M. dissectible database was created by a team of A.D.A.M. medical illustrators. Started in 1990, the database took more
than five years to complete. The A.D.A.M. team illustrated every single muscle, nerve, artery and individual structure in the human
body, and created thousands of anatomical name labels. Meanwhile, A.D.A.M. computer programmers created the technology to allow
for complex on-screen dissection. A.D.A.M.'s one-of-a- kind database has been exhaustively reviewed by panels of leading anatomists,
and is generally recognized as the standard anatomical database in computer-based medical education worldwide."
