Stereotypes of the Left

The PC crowd regularly complains that all those evil non-leftists promote stereotypes about all sorts of groups of people. It is all part of the efforts of the Left to paint all non-leftists as racists, bigots, and troglodytes.

Well, as it turns out, the PC Left does more to promote false stereotyping than anyone else. We thought we should list a few:

1. If an Arab speaks English well, he or she must be pro-peace and a moderate.
2. If someone publishes novels or poetry, he or she must have an ounce of intelligence and common sense.
3. Every Jew who wears a yarmulke is truly religious.
4. Every Jew who does not walk around with a yarmulke is not religious.
5. Everyone who is religious is a rightist.
6. University professors are capable of making correct change and tying their shoes.
7. People with glasses read books.
8. Poor people want socialism and social welfare spending by governments.
9. Homosexuality can never be cured.
10. Rich people vote for conservative and right-wing parties.
11. People who demonstrate against globalization have no interest in material goods.
12. People who demonstrate against globalization care about poor people.
13. People who demonstrate against Israel care about Arabs.
14. People who opposed the US attack on Iraq care about Iraqis.
15. Israeli settlers are bloodthirsty savages.
16. Islam is the religion of peace.
17. Money is the root of all evil.
18. People admitted to college under affirmative action are just as qualified as other students.
19. Religious people do not have sex.
20. Scientists do not believe in God or pray.
21. The Bible is boring.
22. American Indians care about the environment more than other people.
23. Israeli politicians are by and large smarter than mollusks.
24. Conservatives can air their views freely in most daily newspapers.
25. Rush Limbaugh is stupid.
26. Liberals are ethical.
27. Liberals are motivated by compassion.
28. Leftists read books.
29. People asking you for spare change will spend the money on food.
30. Vegetarians are healthier than other folks.
31. Leftists love their country.
32. American black folks are poor and oppressed.
33. Sephardic Jews in Israel are victims of discrimination.
34. American southerners are all ignorant rednecks.
35. Lawyers care about justice.
36. Union leaders are motivated by a striving for equality and justice.
37. Democrats like children, Republicans do not.
38. Non-traditional families raise normal healthy children with success.
39. Homosexuals are all leftists.
40. Homeless people want to find work.
