In reading the posts this morning, I was immediately affected by what I would express as disappointment....
I decided not to react immediately, but to absorb the latest developments and dig deep for objectivity.
This has been one of my very favorite threads for quite some time.
#1...It IS a TA thread.
#2...Dr. Bob's daily market reads are consistent, easy to
follow, give a general feel for the current market
condition. I appreciate the use of A/D, up/down which I
have never really used much in the past but give a
decent picture of breadth and strength.
#3...The cast of characters until recently appeared a
friendly and tight-knit group.
Lately, it appears to me there is much discussion on the merits of TA vs. FA, GA. Since this IS a TA thread, it seems
that occasional questions on the matter do not seem out of place but the incessant need by some to challenge the value of TA in a crusade-like manner is inappropriate, at best.
Furthermore, others want to see "proof" of methods in the form of portfolio updates. It is my opinion that real-time calls are proof enough as these calls can only too easily be
followed and checked for value. I for one do not really want to see portfolio positions for others and have no desire to post portfolio updates for myself. Portfolios can be invented and fudged but market calls once they are made can not be taken back or fudged. The "proof" is already out there! Read, follow, make your own decisions. Additionally,
a new idea is to limit posts to two per day!
I don't know...this is all becoming too complicated for me.
I like harmony, humor, sharing of methods and insights, friendly banter....
I don't care for divisiveness, unproductive argument (argument that goes on and on without ever getting anywhere is NOT productive), crude gemeralities (burf), bickering.
I don't have an answer for this current dilemma but I do suspect that if the current experience fails to provide the fun and intellectually stimulating experience which attracted me in the first place, then I would have to modify my opinion and participation accordingly.
Furthermore, as this board has been in existence for far longer than my participation and was doing just fine before me, I can possibly conclude that for me personally, perhaps in some way my own interaction has somehow affected and ruined the previous dynamics...
I am going to reflect on this and see how it goes from here forward. If needed, I will return to lurker status and if further needed...just hit the road Jack.....
It is really sad to perceive such a great playground for learning and fun appear to be coming apart at the seams.
The answer lies within each of us combined.
