The last rump is the 7th trump....not a trump before!..not a second before the 7th trump....
The subject in 1 Thess 4 is "Where are the dead"?....Remeber that subject...
Paul was reassuring the Thessalonians that they did not have to be concerned about those who were already dead in Christ...that they would not miss out on His return because they were already with Him, and they would return with Him...1 Thess.4:14
And that we who are alive at His return could not "PRECEED" them who were already with Him....why?...because they were already with Him, just that simple..1 Thess 4:15....The word prevent in v.15 #5348 in the Greek is Phthano, interpreted preceed....to be beforehand
So when the 7th trump sounds the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout and with the trump of God...the dead in christ shall rise first...1 Thess 4:16....Why? because they are already with Him...
Then we who are still alive will be caught up....OR in other words CHANGED...into a spiritual body...(1 Cor.15:51)...to meet the Lord in the AIR # 109 in the Greek is aer...translated, to breathe unconsciously,i.e. respire: by analogy, to blow...... Compare to air # 3772 ouranos translated..."the sky" by extension, heaven....This air is the atmosphere.....The air in 1 Thess 4:17 is ...The breath of life, NOT atmosphere...
So yes, my good friend we will be caught up in the air to meet the Lord but, It CANNOT happen at any moment....we must remember what Paul teaches in at least two diff. scriptures....Stay with me now...
First...2 Thess. 2:3, Here Paul teaches us that 2 events must happen before our Lord will return.
1.A falling away first...the apostasy
2.That man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition....Perdition #684 in the Greek is "apoleia", another name for satan,the anti christ!!!.. ruin or loss, to perish...there has only been one entity in scripture that has already been judged to hell....satan himself..besides of course the other evil ones spoken of by Jude.
And the rapture will not be of just christians.....there is no place in scripture where we are taught that Jesus is coming back a third time.....His return is never referred to as a 2 process second coming....But to accept the rapture as true then that is exactly what he has to do....and it just is not written...
At the 7th trump this world will belong to our Lord and the millennium will begin....Rev.11:15
So at the 7th trump we will ALL be caught up (in the spirit) to meet our Lord.....and this world becomes His, and the millenniun begins...the 1000 year reign of our Lord....
Now for a preview of what takes place in the millenniun study Ez.44 the most specific and complete teaching of what the 1000 yrs. is all about.
So when?..at the 7th trump...1 Cor.15:52
How? In the spirit body...1 Cor.15:51
Who? ALL..1 Cor 15:51...Why All?...1 Cor.15:50.
And none of this can happen before the two events that Paul tells us of in 2 Thess.2:3...and they have not happened yet, however, the apostacy has begun....and we are told very plainly.."Let no man deceive you by any means....!"
So my good brother David I have given you only the basics, it is in fact a 6-9 hr study and have done the best I could in a short time....the rest is up to you if you are inclined to study it....
One last note my friend, to believe the rapture as taught by the church and many so-called "end time" experts is to be in danger of accepting the anti christ as Jesus....
You asked and I told you.....my intent is only to plant a seed and hopefully get some to rethink what they already think they know....I too always look at all scripture and teachings in as much light as is provided by the holy Spirit of God my father....and then I look again!
I know this is probably quite new to you but when looked at in light of the entire plan of God it is a lot easier to swallow than what he rapture teaches....
Just a few questions one needs to ask onself in relation to the rapture..
If the rapture is true then what about...?
1. Jesus, do you think he is a joyful bridgroom having a wonderful time at the wedding feast, knowing of all the chaotic mass murdering and torturing going on, and the atrocities being committed against those "left behind"
2. If all christians and even the Holy Spirit are "gone" then how will those woh are left behind learn the truth? Do you think God cares?
3.Are all of those christians having a wonderful time at the wedding feast in spite of knowing some of their flesh and blood was "left behind"...and will be tortured?
4.What about "back sliding christians"?...Any hope for them?
5.What about those who die of old age soon after the rapture?...Those who did not live long enough to worship the antichrist?...Would it seem in large part that God's purpose was frustrated?
6.How will the heathens prevent people from dying of infectious diseases...(these people will also die before they ever worship the anti christ) that will be spread by the decaying flesh world wide...If all those airplanes, trains, cars, busses,etc....crash their will be 100,000,000s of dead and decaying bodies....
7.And what about those people learning about Jesus, but have not yet accepted Him?
8. what about all those helpless people in hospitals on operating tables...and suddenly their christian MD is raptured....and they die also without ever worshipping the anti christ?
9. What about those who live in areas of this world that have not yet had a chance to be visited by a missionary....and now there is no hope in sight?
10. HOw many people do you think the anti christ will slaughter?...Do you still think our Lord Jesus is having a good time at His wedding feast?
There are lots more,the above are just a sample of questions that have no common sense answers.....God is natural...and makes a lot of sense...the rapture teaching is not and does not...
David again I say this post is just the tip of the iceberg....it is over a 10 page very lengthy very specific study....this forum is not the place to be getting into all of it but what I have shared is a good start....And I have taken this much time to share it because you asked....and it is very important to know the chronological order of things to come....Hope you accept it in love my friend.
