There is a housing project in New Orleans, the Desire Housing Project, where the cops are afraid to go even in the daytime, doesn't matter if the cop is black or white.

I grew up in a white housing project in New Orleans, St. Thomas, that is almost like that now. My kids will probably never be street smart enough to pick their way through a place like that regardless of the time of day. I couldn't do it in the night time but maybe in the daytime.

I understand that there are places like that all over the US - South Central LA, the Bronx, Southeast DC across the Occoquan.

Maybe they should send Rudy Giuliani as Ambassador to Iraq. I am not kidding.
