Vianet Technologies Receives Substantial
Purchase Order For Starpoint Fiber Product

Increasing Demand for Optical Access Solutions
Drives Revenue Model

NEW YORK, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Vianet Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: VNTK - news), an
innovator in the development of fiber optic access and visual media technologies, announced today a $5 million order
from TeleKing Corporation, a division of Korean network integration partner Opicom Co., Ltd., for Vianet's
revolutionary Starpoint access product. Developed to provide innovative solutions for fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC),
fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), Starpoint eliminates distance and bandwidth constraints
typically associated with copper DSL solutions.

The TeleKing order for 750 nodes will enable high-speed transactions and communications for financial services
networks in Korea. The new local loop solution is the first of many planned for the Korean market, delivering
high-speed fiber infrastructure directly to entire buildings through the elevator shaft (FTTB). Future applications of the
technology may also deliver fiber access to multi-family residential developments (FTTH).

The Starpoint access product line addresses Vianet's strategy for enabling broadband access and serves the emerging
commercial multimedia communications markets with a full spectrum of local loop solutions. With a focus on
strengthening the weakest link in the Internet/intranet chain -- ``the last mile,' Starpoint access systems are designed to
increase the number of channels that a single node can support from 96 to over 2,000. Such scalability allows network
access providers such as ISPs and CLECs to provide higher-speed Internet access to a greater number of end users,
introducing broadband capabilities to a wider audience through fiber optic equipment solutions.

``Through TeleKing, Opicom is proud to demonstrate strong support for Vianet's fiber access technology. We fully
recognize the opportunity to offer Starpoint as the replacement for the temporary ADSL solution currently deployed in
South Korea,' said Tehan Oh, president of Opicom. ``This initial order will be implemented in large financial
environments requiring high-speed data networks, where there is an immediate need for a complete fiber delivery
solution and all the benefits it offers Korean corporate organizations.'

``TeleKing has secured a major opportunity for fiber-to-the-business in Korea that validates the strength of our leading
edge technologies for emerging communications markets,' said Peter Leighton, president and CEO of Vianet. ``Our
strategy of penetrating the Pan Asian market is clearly off to a good start and this order sets the momentum for a great
year for Vianet. Furthermore, the US market is producing an increasing number of inquiries for our products, as new
developments and an expanding deployment of fiber-up-the-elevator-shaft drives demand for optical access solutions in
a copper-dominated infrastructure.'
