Actually, the number of Murdoch's U.S. news outlets is relatively small, even if you count the Fox News Network, which accounts for only a small sliver of the national television news audience.

It is my understanding that when the FCC reviews media acquisitions, they generally focus on the impact that it will have on local media properties. I would suggest that the WSJ is not competing at that level.

The reality is that if anyone other than Murdoch was acquiring the WSJ, nobody would raise an eyebrow.
