Yep--they can do that--running stops--but it does not happen with anything like the frequency that futures traders obsess about.

There have been times when my stop has been a tic off the high or low and they have not taken me out.

The reality is that it seems a bit of a stretch to think that the locals are going to want to go for stops when most futures traders trade a handful of contracts, if that.
