The big difference is that the big guys can't control the market the way they did in the past 100 years. Individual investors are a big force. There are places like this one for the little guy to get information and each other opinions. I don't even need a broker to buy and sell. When in our past could we do that. There are many many more reasons I can't list. And last but not least, the baby boomers are in the best earning years of their lives, and putting money away into mutual funds, etc. I see double this market. Obviously it won't be a straight line, but we will see numbers that where unbelievable a few years back. Joe ps I remember when the dow was 660.
