RESEARCH ALERT-MicroStrategyrated neutral Reuters Story - October 12, 1998 10:17 NEW YORK, Oct 12 (Reuters) - FAC Equities, part of First Albany Corp, started coverage of MicroStrategy Inc. with a neutral rating on Monday. -- Shares jumped four points to 29-1/2 in early trading, making the stock one of the top gainers on the Nasdaq. -- FAC said the company was already highly valued and that two of its units, Business Intelligence and decisions support systems software, were facing perceived market threats. Among the threats, pricing pressure, competition for market share from Oracle Corp. and SAP AG , and two products from Microsoft Corp. , Plato and Excel. -- Analyst Robert Tholemeier was not immediately available for comment.
