Don, here's the backlog change chart, updated to August 2008. Remember that the blue bars at the bottom are the backlog CHANGE from the previous month for SEMI, or the backlog CHANGE from the previous quarter [green bars] for AMAT. The triangles are the actual AMAT backlog for each quarter. The actual SEMI backlog is unknown to me. The SEMI backlog CHANGE bars agree with what you call backlog i105.photobucket.com
