Talk about timing...

I have been playing with swap-file stuff since lunch.

Here's what I'd do:

Go into device manager and click 'Virtual memory' button.

Check box 'Let me manage ...'

Check box 'Disable virtual'

When given the choice to boot, select BOOT

Press F8 and get the boot menu

Choose to boot to DOS

Find WIN386.SWP file(s) and delete it(them). Yes, there could be more than one. Look in C:\ and C:\WINDOWS\ too.

Reboot your system into Windows.

Go into device manager and click 'Virtual memory' button.

UNcheck box 'Disable virtual'

Enter your desired swap file location

Check box 'Let Windows manage ...'

On completion, choose reboot.

PW.
