Yes, for sure. While there are PCs-on-steroids now with similar
performances (though you must be cautious about raw numbers emanating from the PC world, and nowadays, even from reputable workstation vendors ;) ), they tend to be just as expensive, and none have the breadth of featureset of this machine (and binary compatibility with the higher-end gfx machines that no-one can touch).

No. The O2 is meant for "volume" in the workstation sense of the word. Appliances that have *real* volume are printers, cars, dishwashers, video games (PlayStation, Nintendo64), and in the future, maybe network computers.
