I kept wondering why none of the news coverage dealt with the heroes who tackled the perp who shot the Congresswoman and others. Tonight Geraldo Rivera had one of them on his show. I don't know whether the guy appeared on other shows, but I saw him there. This fellow was armed and said when he heard the shots he ran out to help. He said he would have shot the perp. Geraldo asked why he didn't, as if to suggest that he should have. "They already had him down, and I didn't think it was my responsibility to end his life." Which more or less proves that most gun owners have more than the usual amount of self-control and restraint, and that all the claims made by gun control advocates are baseles. He just helped the others hold the perp down, and the only thing the perp said according to this fellow was "Ow! You're hurting my arm."
