Hello dper,

It may be implied that nicotine is addictive; however, has it been proven scientifically? Mr. Heim is properly defending his clients when he reminds the jurors "to reject the contention that nicotine is an addictive drug like heroin or cocaine."

Each word is extremely important. It is only proper to disassociate tobacco from dangerous drugs like heroin and cocaine.

"But if I am a jurist, I'd be insulted..."

Unfortunately, we're not jurors in this most important case. People with superior intellectual ability rarely find themselves on a jury.

I don't believe that you would be insulted if you were in the courtroom listening to Mr. Rosenblatt's references to the Holocaust, Rosa Parks, etc., and then listening to Mr. Heim rebuke these claims in a professional, responsible, and intelligent manner. Please understand that you probably think more like a rational scientist. Civil procedure is oftentimes irrational.

Respectfully,

Theo
