Had a client once who inherited about a million; this was when I practiced in Dallas. He ran into a wildcatter. I watched that million disappear in a year. He fired me because I kept trying to tell him.

I later ran into him later, in the late 80s, and he said, "Man, you tried to tell me. But I just couldn't see it." He was then starting a (get this) pay phone business with another guy. I didn't even bother to tell him there was this new gadget he might not have seen called a cell phone. Some people just don't learn.
