how is Sun looking at the acquisition in terms of ROI?

McNealy seemed to still be pleased about the whole thing. Really evaluating it would require knowing revenue breakdowns that are not published. The buzz is that Fusion, now iPlanet Integration Server, has been doing very well indeed and has been instrumental in a number of high end sales in providing an all Sun solution. If I had to guess, though, I would guess that it was all more important in terms of working toward the webtone concept than in real revenue simply because the other parts of Sun's revenue are so huge. With $8B in the bank, one can afford to invest in the future a bit.
