Stupid Democrats want us to deplete the SPR! Democrats are also pushing renewable fuels and conservation, and they're calling on President Bush to release 700 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Do you see any gas lines. The SPR is there for an emergency supply. They can only pump out 4.4 million barrels a day, only about a third of our daily consumption. In fact it was intended to go straight to the military for our defence, though this would also help civilian supplies because the military would not be using the normal industrial supply lines. At least wait till we have gas lines! And preferably if we also have a military emergency as well! politico.com
