I also think it's funny that some people insist on pronouncing some foreign words (place names and such) with an "accent" or something.
A form of virtue signaling I suppose. "See, there's no differences between us."
It kinda, sorta borders on racism to make allowances for simple physical differences that have no real meaning in real life. It's the kind of thing that winds up with Antifa-types running around.
Every language has different regions with their own widely differing accents on their own language so it's a futile gesture anyway.
The people in those countries certainly don't go through pronunciation gymnastics when they reference place names and such in English.
