I see Laz has wisely declined to champion the cause of baby killing, but fools do rush in...
I suggest you moderate your insults or go find another thread for this. I STILL own the ban button, buddy. And, yes, that is a threat. Neither Solon nor, I believe, I have said anything in this discussion to justify your attacks. However, in the spirit of them, keep this up and you will find yourself back on "Ask God" or "Ask and Ye Shall Receive" with your fellow brainwashed religious nutcases whining about how unfairly you've been treated.

As Solon pointed out, the murder laws are still in effect. If someone capable of conscience decision is unwillingly killed, it is murder. If someone who is capable of independent living and cannot meet specified medical criteria is killed, it is murder. Whether you like it or not.

Secondly, citing the Dutch abuses of their own laws is largely a red herring. Were an assisted suicide bill crafted by any state legislature, they have the opportunity to learn from any problems that occurred there and craft their law so as to avoid them. It is not that difficult to invent schemes that make such abuse essentially impossible. For example, the DA won't prosecute? Fine. Have a section in the law making a doctor civilly liable for abuses. Then if the DA won't act, relatives of the victim can.
