Here's an industry insight of true brilliance cited in Briefing.com. So this would leave Dell, HWP and AAPL in the Wintel PC business and eliminate CPQ? Wow, that would put Sun in a nice position. Who needs new products when your only threat is Carly? Maybe we can vote on this idea...and count the votes in Florida. I vote yes.

PC Consolidation: Bear Stearns' Ripple Effect reporting that analyst Andrew Neff arguing for consolidation in the PC industry -- his suggested combinations are for Dell (DELL) to buy IBM's (IBM) PC business and Gateway (GTW), Hewlett (HWP) to buy Compaq (CPQ), and Apple (AAPL) to drop PowerPC and go to Intel (INTC) chips.
