Chicago is where I was born. great city but it does have it's edge. probably the best big city in the US today (biases).

all this dying recalls an article I came across concerning the French. supposedly, the French lost more men in WW1 than the Americans have cumulatively lost in all their wars. coupled with the fact that the influenza occurred at that time there were not many men alive in the 20's & 30's to service all the madames much less sustain any meaningful military.

I was seeing a music teacher in eastern Ukraine a few years back & she told me the bolsheviks killed both her grandfathers in 1937, in the back yard of her house. apparently, Stalin had more people killed in the Soviet Union around the time of WW2 than what the Nazis accomplished.
