Yep, I have a few of his tire tracks on my rear bumper from trying to short that crazy bastard. It's hard to short a joker who can print monopoly money on command, declare that it has value, and use it to buy bonds and equities, but I'm not giving up the ghost. As long as it remains a zero-sum game, there is a chance to win. -g/ng-

I suspect that either (a) S&P's and Moody's owners will be paid off not to downgrade (or warn again) on U.S. debt and its sovereign credit rating, or (b) a controlled takedown of U.S. equity markets will transpire out of the blue. In the case of the latter, perhaps we'd see a few days of persistently slumping equities -- seemingly without explanation as insiders reposition themselves -- followed by the bottom falling out.
