<This is Corollary design (the old thing that did the 8way SMP for the Pentium Pro a bit revamped for XEON) for companies like Northbridge, Compaq et al. This seems to be exactly the reason why Intel is having problerms with solving bugs by fitting this chipset and the XEON together. I know I'm right here because I'm reading this stuff (in MAgazines like ct of Germany and websites like Tom's or Anand's)...But apart from that - where'S the point. ?>

Take it from me, Crossy, you can't be further from the truth.

Now repeat after me: The 450NX and Corollary's 8-way Profusion chipset were developed by two separate design teams. Intel never did any development in the 8-way server space, and never chose to. Only recently did Intel decide that the 8-way server space was in high enough demand to warrant the purchase of Corollary.

Repeat after me again: There are no problems in the 450NX chipset. The problems that Intel was running into lied solely in the Xeon processor when used in 4-way configs, not in the chipset.

Repeat after me one more time: The press is not always right. (e.g. magazines like ct of Germany and websites like Tom's and Anand's.) But how do you know that I'm right? Let's just say that Jim McMannis isn't the only one with inside information.
