We are not driving golf carts, so you can count out 100% electric.

Hydrogen is a possibility, but to produce it and have it completely replace gas for vehicles means we need to greatly increase our electric power capacity. That's not going to happen with solar and wind. We still need to burn fossil fuels until nuclear and fusion become mainstream.

Remember that there's a difference between hybrid, which truly stretches the energy in a gallon of gas, and electric or hydrogen, which relies on electricity from the grid.
