When the markets anticipate an increase in supply, even though that increase may be some time down the road, the price drops in anticipation due to the lowering of futures prices.

Assuming we go ahead, OCS drilling will provide the US oil in 5-7 years optimistically. Those makes the futures you're jawboning about very, very farsighted.
