Oh don't be apologetic. When I went through my Richard stage, Dan would leave the house while I worked out. He couldn't stand the sound of Richard's dear voice. He would priss through the room imitating him-- "All RIGHT LADIES"--- and I would throw things at him. I admit the time I saw Richard on Letterman or Oprah or someone, with autumn leaves and sparkles all over his little running shorts and shirt, I had a slight frissson of revulsion.
