A couple points on your posting. First I have to admit that your posting was presented with some higher than normal MSFT diplomacy (most MSFT employee postings openly display their egos).

First point:

In recent years, more and more effort has been placed on pleasing the customer. The software I'm working on is very strategic, innovative, and powerful.

So this is as opposed to the lack of effort MSFT had previously placed on pleasing the customers? Also, what other software that you or other MSFT employees are working on would be tactical, non-innovative, and weak? Personally I would agree with Charles that much of what MSFT has put out over the years has followed the descriptions I pointed out. So your point that MSFT is NOW focusing on a new era of software that is strategic, innovative, and powerful proves the point in court that MSFT has not been innovative in the past.

Also, your quote of Uncle Billy's internal email to employees on his perception of the failure of settlement provides soooooo much value. Wouldnt his opinions be similar to asking Company Management who's fault it was that setlement talks between them and their union failed? An expected response from Uncle Billy - dont ya think?

Personally I am very happy that the DOJ is/was not in the negotiations alone with MSFT - for the sake of the entire industry. When dealing with MSFT on any deal, the opposing side needs to have a lot of minds at the table since MSFT has proven time and time again to sign deals that always favours them or leaves a ton of LOOPHOLES.

Thanks Goodness that the DOJ is not alone against Uncle Billy.
