mfn, respectfully disagree, someone puts up a fake bid, the ones used to manipulate are say 100-1,000 k. If a stock is trading at 50, they put in a bid for 500 k at 49.98, meanwhile they are actually selling, shorts get scared or people buy more seeing the bid, so some trades go off and say 50, 50.1 ect, then mysteriously, that 500k bid at 49.98 is gone, not on the tape, like it did not exist. I see this all the time, my quotes could be delayed, but I never see certain bids cross the tape, delay or not This is a know bs tactic used by traders. It is not illegal, anyone can change their mind on a bid and pull it. It is just when it involves large volume, it is not likely someone just changing on a whim, it's manipulation. Appreciate your input, but this is pretty black and white.
