Hi EKS...About the effect of the early release

The way I see it, Q4 ends on 10/25 or 11/1, then Q4 is either 13 or 14 weeks. For 13 wks quarter, the upgrades translates to 31% of the quarter (4/13), or 36% of the quarter (5/14) for 14 wks quarter.

Also, it seems that they are doing something about their sales in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East according to this report:

----------------------------------

10/08/96 - Novell Europe Revamps Licensing Agreements
DUBLIN, IRELAND, 1996 OCT 8 (Newsbytes) -- By Steve Gold.

From the article:

Novell"s Europe, Middle East and African (EMEA) operations has announced a series of enhancements to its enterprise software licensing program, Novell Customer Connections (Novell CC).

Senour Reed, director of major account program sales (MAPS) for Novell
EMEA, said that the new scheme aims to make things "even easier for the end-user customer, and offers Novell"s (dealer) channel increased business and partnership opportunities with their enterprise customers."

----------------------------------

They did badly in this region in Q3 (20M less than projections). Hopefully, this program helps.

Regards

Salah
