The genuine surprise for me was Colorado. I didn't expect to see that seat up for grabs. With the Dems having a strong possibility for a pickup. Another surprise, and this a couple of months ago, the Dems were doing well in Oklahoma, in the campaign for Nickles seat.

The surprise for me is Alaska. Alaska is about as red as a state as you can have. A Democrat getting elected to the Senate from Alaska should be as likely as Utah or Wyoming electing a Democrat, but it appears that an anti-nepotism streak is running strong there.

Colorado has a large liberal leaning city in Denver, plus about half of the recent people who moved there came from California.
